Civilization was in ruins, it was the beginning of the long night on Kulthea, and it would take one hundred thousand years before the scars of war would heal. Hidden in covert places the exotic creations of the "old race" carried on. The Lugrôki, Trogli and Krylites were skillful at living underground, the only haven from the wasteland above. It was in the remaining two thousand years of the long night that swift and amazing transformations began to take place.

The Lords of Orhan first sent the Nymphs or nature spirits and servants to begin the slow restoration of plants, trees, rivers and the oceans on Kulthea. Once the Nymphs returned clean water and plants the animals recovered and multiplied. Then the Lords of Orhan next returned the Elven and Mannish populace and certain exotic people like the Hírazi, Centaurs, Fauns and Mermen to Kulthea.
